Skateboard helmets

Started in the end of 1940s, Skateboarding is an action sport which involves riding and performing tricks using skates. It can be considered as an art form, recreational activity, job or simply a method of transportation. It was started as a sport but now it has turned into profession for some or a hobby. Just like other sports, it also requires a lot of practice to gain expertise.  Earlier, it was slightly safer as the skating trains were just concrete walls. But with time, a lot has been changed about the sport and the risk factors also increased.  One needs to be very cautious so as to avoid injuries and other mishaps.
Head is the most delicate part and requires utmost Protection while skiing. Severe damage to the head can even result in death. So, it is very important that you should wear high quality skateboard helmet to prevent injuries to head. With the growing popularity of the sport and increasing accidents, the market of helmets has grown tremendously.
While purchasing a helmet, one thing which one should look for is the material of the product. The helmet must be light in weight and have a covering of expanded polypropylene (EPP) as it is extremely durable, and can recover on a hit. Proper fit is also very important as improper fit can result in severe damage. It should also meet safety standard or rating. The helmets with CPSC or ASTM safety standard are extremely good and offer full Protection.
With so many brands available in the market, picking up the right helmet is really a cumbersome task. Pro Tec helmets are very popular among the skaters and come in different color, designs and sizes. They have a great safety rating and some helmets may not need replacing even after a crash. Another most prevalent brand is the Technical Safety Gear or TSG, and is quite similar to Pro Tec in great safety rating and cool looks. Apart from these, Bern helmets and Triple 8 helmets are also available offering proper safety to the skater.
Choosing the right helmet also depends on the level of expertise in skating. Example, a single impact helmet is suitable for the beginner. But, for an advanced skater performing risky stunts, it is advisable to go for multiple impact helmets.
Wearing Protection gear not only save your life but can also make you sure that your every organ is intact and let you enjoy your favorite sport without any fear or worry.
